YCC Prayer Chain: If you would like to participate in our prayer chain, you can email Cecily at cecilyyamhill@hotmail.com and she will add you to the list. Please email her, don’t just tell her, so she has your correct address. For confidential or urgent prayer requests, you can fill out a Connection Card, call Cecily at 503.880.8519 or email her. Be sure to mark your message as confidential or urgent.

Today: Foundations Class. 1pm in the Meeting House. Lunch will be provided. This is for anyone who is not a member of YCC and would like to know more about what it means to be a member and why membership is important. Class includes a discussion of the foundations of our faith. This class is required for membership.

Wednesday: See You at the Pole. Students attending Yamhill-Carleton HS, meet Bryant at 7am.

October 1: Welcome of New Members. There will be an introduction of new members during worship services. If you recently became a member, please plan to be at one of the services this Sunday so everyone can say, “Yippee!”

If you are new to YCC and would like to meet some of the ministry leaders, learn more about how YCC functions, and have your questions answered, please plan to attend this class. Lunch is provided. Mondays & Thursdays: Women’s Exercise Classes Begin. Laura Olsen will offer exercise classes two days a week again this fall. Classes will meet in the Fireside Room. If you have questions, please contact Laura at 503.349.2817.

Tuesday: Women’s Bible Study Begins. 9.30-11.30 in the Fireside Room. “Too Busy Not to Pray” by Bill Hybels, exploring prayer using 20 minute video segments. Bill says, “The urgent need for prayer in today’s broken world is clear, but busyness still keeps many of us from finding time to pray.” Childcare will be available. Questions? We will have a team of students working on projects around our church. If you would like to come and help or supervise a project, please contact Kenny at 503-550-6045. Can’t help? Announcements

Notes: We have invited a photographer to take family pictures following the September 3 service. Please be prepared to have your picture taken for the new mobile directory. If interested, you will have an opportunity to purchase the digital files.

There will be one or two drones in the sky taking pictures during the September 3 service and potluck. Act normal! We are also planning a huge group picture in the parking lot after the service. All footage is for our website.

Your help is needed for children’s church this fall. Please look at the handout and see where you can best help this ministry or other church ministries.

Wednesday: All-Youth Air Soft. 2-6pm at the Livingston’s home, 18031 NW Rockyford Road, Yamhill. Parents, please plan to sign activity permission slips when you drop off your youth and pick them up promptly at 6pm. Snacks will be provided, but not dinner. Bring your own airsoft gun and eye protection. Questions? Contact Bryant at 503.437.0951.

Next Sunday: Church in the Homes. There will not be a regular church service next Sunday! Plan to meet at your assigned home.

This is an annual event that happens at the end of August. Every family is assigned to a specific host family and we gather at their home to worship and fellowship together. This year we are meeting at the homes of Ted Walters, Rod & Bonnie Peloquin, and Brian & Danelle Myrick.

If you haven’t already been contacted, you should hear from your host this week. Please plan to attend, and bring a dish for the potluck lunch following the worship time. If you haven’t been contacted, call Jane for your host family.

September 3: All Church Fall Kick-Off Potluck Picnic. At 12.30pm following the service. Plan to bring your favorite dish. We’ll have a great time of fellow-ship along with information about fall events, including Wednesday Night Connect classes and new bible studies. Also, there will be games for the kids.

TWO POTLUCKS IN A ROW!

August 27: Church in the Homes. This is an annual event that happens at the end of August. Every family is assigned to a specific host family and we gather at their home to worship and fellowship together.

Over the next couple of weeks, you will be contacted by your host. Please plan to attend, and bring a dish for the potluck lunch following the worship time.

September 3: All Church Fall Kick-Off Potluck Picnic. At 12.30 following the service. Plan to bring your favorite dish. We’ll have a great time of fellow-ship along with information about fall events, including Wednesday Night Connect classes, and new bible studies. Also, there will be games for the kids.

We Need YOU! Before you know it, fall will be upon us. With the change in season comes the start of our fall programs. Please be in prayer about how you can serve the body by to help in some way. There will be opportunities like preparing coffee or food, teaching Sunday School, serving on ministry teams, or being on a list to help when help is needed. Remember, many hands make light work. If everyone chips in a bit, then no one carries the burden alone.

Some MORE ideas for where you could serve:

  • Assist the Helps Ministry in caring for our lawns and buildings.
  • Lend a hand to the homeschool program.
  • Offer to help with special programs for the men’s or women’s ministry.
  • Join the Prayer Team and support our church family in prayer.
  • Offer to participate in special services when there’s a need, i.e., Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc.
  • Help organize the kids’ Christmas Shoe Box ministry.
  • Help Organize the Christmas Dinner event.
  • Help Jane think of more ideas! (This is listed to see if you actually are reading the bulletin—grin)

All this work gets done by someone. This year it could be you!!

New Landscaping: We want to let you know that YCC is getting a facelift! A landscaping company has offered to do the job, free of charge, and we are taking them up on their offer. Watch for changes coming soon.

 We Need YOU! Before you know it, fall will be upon us. With the change in season comes the start of our fall programs. Please be in prayer about how you can serve the body by to help in some way. There will be opportunities like preparing coffee or food, teaching Sunday School, serving on ministry teams, or being on a list to help when help is needed. Remember, many hands make light work. If everyone chips in a bit, then no one carries the burden alone.

Some ideas for where you could serve:

  • Sunday School workers for K-5th grade in either service.
  • Nursery workers for infant-5 years in either service.
  • Middle grade teachers for Sunday School.
  • Youth group helpers for Sunday night youth group or special events.
  • Serve on the Men’s, Women’s, or any one of our many ministry teams.
  • Serve on the Helps Ministry team if you are handy.
  • Help prepare communion one month a year.
  • Help prepare coffee one week a month.
  • Help prepare meals for Wednesday Night Connect.

Church in the Grove. There will be only ONE service at 11am from today through Labor Day weekend. To help with this event, please plan to bring your own chairs. In case of inclement weather, we will squeeze into the church sanctuary.

Friday and Saturday: LaRue Work Party. 8am to 5pm both days. The Helps Ministry along with friends and family of Mariam LaRue are planning a work party to re-roof her house. They need 6 to 10 people and would be happy with any help you can give for any number of hours, either day. Bring gloves and sunblock. Food and drinks will be provided. Saturday: The Great Hunt Five-Year Anniversary Celebration Luau. 6.00-9.00pm. We have an “authentic” Hawaiian pig cooked in the ground by two of Jim Ramos’ Hawaiian buddies! It’ll be a great and relaxing outdoor evening with a few giveaways and powerful testimonies. The cost is $25 per ticket. Talk to Jim for your tickets.

Saturday: Boomers’ Red, White, & Blue Potluck Picnic. 5.30-8.30pm at Ed and Judi Wood’s house, 26660 NW Turner Creek Road in Yamhill. Hamburgers and hot dogs provided. July 14-15: Derby Days YCC Food Booth.

Lots of help needed!! Sign-up with Norlene or Teresa after the service. They will have the schedule for Friday evening and all day Saturday. Questions? Contact Norlene at 971.322.6864.

We also need lots of soft drinks. Please buy your favorite kind and drop the cans off in the church kitchen by the end of the day on Tuesday. Can’t get into the church? Then leave them by the kitchen door.

July 16: Men’s SkyKart Event. 1-6pm. Watch for an email this week with further details.
