Notes:

Kitchen Door Locked: For the security of our children, the kitchen door will be locked during church services. If you need access to that area on a regular basis, contact Jane to get a key.

Note month changes. Communion Preparation for 2018: We are in need of two individuals or couples to prepare communion during the months of August (usually one service and only three weeks, and November). If you would be interested in serving the body in this way, please contact Jane.

Children’s Ministry Needs (contact Jodi Erickson at 503.895.8903):

  1. Nursery Teacher Second Sundays, 11 am
  2. K-5 Teacher Fourth Sundays, 9 am
  3. Adult Nursery and Pre-K for WNC (one per week)
  4. Teen Nursery and Pre-K Helpers (paid) for WNC (one per week)

December 3: All-Church Cookie Exchange. Bring as many cookies as you want to take home. There will be cookie boxes available for your use. Question? Contact Teresa Benski at 503.550.3056.

December 9: Boomer’s Christmas Cantata at the Portland Christian Center. 1.15pm. Meet at the church to form carpools. Cantata starts at 3:30pm, but the group will leave early due to traffic. Plan to have dinner at Izzy’s in Hillsboro. There are 25 tickets available, first come first served. Call Ted at 971.281.4831 or Diana at 503.476.2323 to reserve your ticket(s). Reservations due by Sunday, December 3.

December 9: Conceal and Carry Class. 10am-1pm. Lunch provided. RSVP required. This is a free class, but does not include licensing fees with the county.

December 9: Youth Group Girls’ Baking Night: 4-8 pm at the church.

December 10: Canned Food Drive/Bake Sale: During Coffee Time. Exchange canned food for the Women’s Ministry food boxes for a treat made by the youth group girls.

December 16: Community Christmas Boxes, Packing and Delivery. 9am-2pm. The Women’s Ministry is planning to distribute boxes filled with Christmas dinner fixings to families who request them. Sign-up sheets on the back table for food, and packing and delivery. If you would like to participate in this event, contact Judi Wood at 503.550.3987.

Sunday, December 24: Christmas Eve Services. There will be two services on Christmas Eve, one at 8pm and one at midnight. Please note that there will NOT be regular morning services that day.

Angol vs Ongole: The church building in India will be built in ONGOLE, not Angol. Two different places, one large country. Sorry for the confusion on the pledge cards.

Operation Christmas Child: Filled boxes need to be back to the church by next Sunday, November 12. A love offering will be taken today.

Today: Men’s 4F (Food, Firearms, Football & Fellowship) Event. 3pm. Meet at Buzz Ready’s house: 16600 NW Oakridge Road in Yamhill. If you have questions, contact Buzz at 503.537.8641.

Thursday-Friday: All-Youth All-Nighter. Both youth groups will come together for an all night party from Thursday night at 7.00pm to Friday morning  at 7am. There will be games, campfire time, late night worship, and no sleeping. Meet in the Fireside Room.

Saturday: Fall Harvest Dinner. 5.00-7.00pm. The Boomers’ Ministry is preparing a Thanksgiving dinner for our church family. Please plan to attend and enjoy this gift from them to us. Kick off the holiday season with fun, food, and fellowship!

Bible Collection. Jake Bibb is still collecting old, used, or damaged Bibles during the month of October to donate to the Bible Foundation. If you have any that you would like to donate, there are collection boxes at the back of the church.

Children’s Ministry would like to thank those who volunteered to help with Children’s Church on Sunday mornings and during Wednesday Night Connect. There are still a couple of needs to be met. If you would like to help, contact Jodi Erickson at 503.895.8903.

Operation Christmas Child: There will be boxes available in the church foyer for you to take home and fill for a child in need. Please take a brochure so you know what to include and what not to include in your box. If you want to pay for postage, include a $9 check in the box or pay online. Filled boxes need to be back to the church by November 12. A special love offering will be taken on November 5.

Today: Women’s Ministry Corn Maze Event. 12.30pm. Meet in the Fireside Room for lunch. We’ll carpool to Baggenstos Farms for the maze. Cost: $7; $5 age 5-12; kids 5 and under are free. Bring your rain gear, boots, and a sense of adventure!

Wednesday, November 1: All-Youth Harvest Party. 7-8.30pm. There will be pumpkins launched by machines that we will build, fun games, and loud music to disrupt Wednesday Night Connect. Everyone has the option to wear costumes.

November 5: Men’s 4F Event. 5pm. Details coming soon. Keep the date free!

  1. One adult Pre-K teacher: 9am service on 5th Sunday of the month (3Xs a year).
  2. One helper for Nursery (age 11+): 9am service, 1st Sundays
  3. One adult or teen helper in Pre-K: Wednesday Night Connect
  4. Volunteers as substitute teachers or helpers in all areas when the need arises.

Today: Landscape Committee Meeting. 6pm at Zippy’s. Anyone interested in planning the future of our church landscaping, please come. Bring money for pizza.

This Week: New Women’s Bible Studies Starting!

Tuesday: 9.30am in the Fireside Room. Childcare available.

Wednesday: 7-8.30pm at the Robbins’ home, 115 Spruce Street in Yamhill. Childcare available at the church as part of the WNC program.

All Things New by musician and author Kelly Minter. Cost is $20 to cover materials and offset childcare costs. The series will run through December 12&13. Now is the perfect time to start or return… In addition to a great study we will be treated to some music and recipes by the studies’ author!  Questions? This is for anyone who is not a member of YCC and would like to know more about what it means to be a member and why membership is important. Class includes a discussion of the foundations of our faith. This class is required for membership.

Wednesday: See You at the Pole. Students attending Yamhill-Carleton HS, meet Bryant at 7am.

* Wednesday Night Connect list of classes is available on the back table. Please pick up a flyer and then sign up for a class on one of the sign-up sheets.

Today: Newcomer’s Class. 1pm in the Meeting House. If you are new to YCC and would like to meet some of the ministry leaders, learn more about how YCC functions, and have your questions answered, please plan to attend this class. Lunch is provided. Didn’t RSVP? Come anyhow. There’s always plenty of food.

Mondays & Thursdays: Women’s Exercise Classes Begin. Laura Olsen will offer exercise classes two days a week again this fall. Classes will meet in the Fireside Room. If you have questions, please contact Laura at 503.349.2817.

Tuesday: Women’s Bible Study Begins. 9.30-11.30 in the Fireside Room. “Too Busy Not to Pray” by Bill Hybels, exploring prayer using 20 minute video segments. Bill says, “The urgent need for prayer in today’s broken world is clear, but busyness still keeps many of us from finding time to pray.” Childcare will be available. Questions? Wednesday: Wednesday Night Connect Begins. Dinner at 6.30pm and classes from 7-8.30pm. Grab a flyer and decide which class you want to attend. Be sure to sign up on the sign-up sheets so the leaders know how many people to expect.
