Leadership Team

Duane Emry: Lead Pastor and Worship Ministry
Jim Ramos: Associate Pastor and Men’s Ministry

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17. At Yamhill Christian Church we believe that men are called by God to lead their wives, kids and the church. That begins with each individual man pursuing right relationship with God. Men were also created for relationship with others, including other men. This ministry is dedicated to helping men become men of God at home, in the church and in their community.

Kelly Emry: Children’s Ministry

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16. Children’s Ministries is focused on partnering with families to train up children who love and know God’s Word. Our prayer is that they develop a close relationship with Jesus and are inspired to become the men and women God has called them to be.

Tom Fort: Missions

The Missions Team serves to inform, educate, and mobilize the whole congregation in the task of “Bringing about the obedience of faith for the sake of His name among all the nations.” Romans 1:5. While missions, broadly speaking, refer to everything for which we are sent into the world, the team at YCC has a more narrow focus. We exist primarily to implement our congregation’s mission statement beyond our local church.

Marla Jochim: Hospitality Ministry

“Dedicated to showing the love of Jesus to our church family and to guests who visit our church.” This ministry focuses on fostering community within the church. Whenever there is an opportunity for members of the body to meet together, hospitality will be there, organizing, promoting, preparing and participating in the events.

Kenny McNeal: Helps Ministry
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5. The Helps Ministry’s goal is to encourage everyone at YCC to serve others as Christ served us, sacrificially and willingly, and to provide them with opportunities to do so. This ministry supports individuals and other ministries within the church, and provides opportunities to minister through service to those outside the church.
James and Marie Dezellem: Youth Ministries (Middle School and High School)

Partnering with families to help students grow in their faith and become godly men and women.” The Youth Ministry’s primary goal is to join with parents in making our students disciples of Christ. Youth ministry volunteers walk alongside students as they grow from kids into adults, teaching them that whether they are a new believer in Jesus or have known Him since childhood, everyone must choose to follow Him each and every day of their lives. This church desires that our teens be a part of the body before, during and after their teen years. We live life together during times of teaching, fellowship, special activities and small group discussions.

Ramona Pekkola: Women’s Ministry

In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:7-8. The women of Yamhill Christian Church are a loving, supportive group of women who want to learn, fellowship and serve together. The women’s ministry is dedicated to helping each woman achieve her full potential as a woman of God.

Cecily Spencer: Prayer Ministry & Life Care Ministry

Prayer is the avenue God uses to bring his Kingdom to Earth. Jesus Christ gave us wonderful examples of how to pray and the Holy Spirit continues to teach us every day. A church is founded and guided by prayer. It is how God works in this world to achieve his plan. It is also the amazing personal pathway for our individual relationship with God; to enter into deeper communication, revelation, and sanctification. We also pray to bless and intercede on the behalf of others. God desires and delights in our prayers: it is a way to worship him.

Bob and Cindy Harder: Marriage Works Ministry

Our goal is to mirror the marriage image that Christ has for the church by studying the word of God and applying it to our marriages. We will try to accomplish this by having group studies and group activities that will cause us to get to know each other and the Word.

Ted Walters: Boomers’ Ministry

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4. The goal of Senior Outreach Ministry is to strengthen the faith of seniors in our church and to reach out with the love of Christ to seniors in the Yamhill Carlton area. This will be accomplished through social events, outings and special projects. Visitation and support of homebound seniors is included in this ministry.
