Men's Ministry
What do you do? Do you have regular meetings? What sort of special events do you do?
The Men's Ministry provides relational activities to help men build relationships with God and each other, and learning activities to help men function more effectively as men. A fellowship Bible study meets Sunday evenings twice a month in a nearby home. Most years there is a Men's Retreat, with one or two nights of fellowship and meetings at a location away from the church. For example, 2006 featured a weekend at a beach house and 2007 an overnight Willamette River Canoe Adventure trip. As a ministry, we provide meaningful recreational activities and service projects, such as clamdigging and reroofing the home of a local widow who doesn't attend our church.
To someone considering participating in the Yamhill Christian Church Men:
Men, are you like most of the rest of us, in that you tend to slip into personal aimlessness? Do you often lose your focus on what's of greatest meaning and value? Although it's tempting to believe that we're strong enough to handle life on our own, the truth is that we as men are most vulnerable when we're isolated from other men. God's Word in Hebrews 10:24-25 recognizes the importance of encouragement that spurs us on to "love and good works." It also recognizes that many of us do fall into the habit of not getting together. Break the habit! Join with us in the Yamhill Christian Church Men's Ministry in seeking fellowship and growth-focused gatherings with other men. The content of these times will encourage you to grow into the kind of truly exciting living God wants for us, and the relationships you build will be also be invaluable for mutual encouragement. Be a part of our "band of brothers"!
