What to Expect When You Visit YCC

When you come to YCC, you will see a very old, traditional building. We think it’s pretty awesome, but don’t be fooled. Inside, things have changed over the years. Today, we are a contemporary church filled with people of all ages.

Our worship time is led by a highly skilled contemporary band and we sing mostly songs from artists like Hillsong, Passion and Jesus Culture. From time to time, we also include a hymn or two.

Our preaching is primarily expository, verse by verse teaching, but occasionally we throw in a topical message, just to mix things up a bit.

As far as attire goes, no matter what you wear, you’ll fit in with us. On any given Sunday, you will see shorts, slacks, jeans, sneakers, boots, cowboy hats and even a suit now and then.

We are a mixed bunch of believers who strongly believe in living life together. You’re welcome to come. You’ll fit right in, no matter who you are or how you dress.

Church in the Grove
When the weather turns warm, we move our church service outside to the grove of trees behind the church building. Church in the Grove started years ago, when a member of our congregation became allergic to chemical scents. In order for her to join us in worship, at least part of the year, we had to move outdoors. Since then, our outdoor services have become a treasured tradition.
Church in the Home
Once a year, in August, we close our church building and encourage all our families to worship in one of our member’s homes. Each family is assigned a host and for one Sunday, they attend service in the host’s home. After a time of worship and a short message, everyone enjoys a potluck lunch and a wonderful time of fellowship.
